I remember when I started painting more than 20 years ago, and I'm still learning, I didn't know where
to start. I finally decided to read books about: painting techniques, acrylic art supplies, the color wheel,
how to mix colors, perspective and other basic stuff. Then, I went to a local arts and crafts store and
bought a basic set, student grade, of acrylic paints and a few other supplies like canvases, brushes,
gesso, a plastic palette and a brush tub (to clean the brushes).
Years later, I bought a small tabletop easel, a french box easel, more acrylic paints in many different
colors, acrylic mediums, palette knives and a few other art supplies. Today, It is very easy to find online the acrylic art supplies that you need but, if this is you first experience with this medium, you can start practicing with just a some basic tools. You could start with a student grade set of paints, a few basic brushes and canvas paper pad.
If, after you got some basic supplies, you don't know where to start, you could begin learning with the help of acrylic painting books and other acrylic painting instruction methods like dvd's. Also, these days it is easier to learn than when I started. With the internet, you can find many online tutorials, videos, ebooks and more to help you in your learning process.
